Our Lady Madonna reliefs

The smaller, but no less precious, alternatives to the statues of the Madonna are the so-called reliefs of the Madonna, to be fixed to the walls thus decorating even the smallest rooms and corridors. Thanks to the details worked with extreme care and the three-dimensional effect, the details seem alive, making the observer feel the maternal love of Mary.

The reliefs of Madonna of the Franco company measure between 10 and 32 cm in height and are mostly without a frame. A framed relief is also available to emphasize the character of the figure. From a stylistic point of view, the representations of Mary range from baroque to modern. Despite the ornaments with roses and putti heads, in the center there is always Mary with Jesus. All the reliefs are carved in maple wood and the finishes are usually natural to hand painted. A particular wall painting is undoubtedly the carved version, proposed by the Franco firm, of Ferruzzi's "Madonnina" (1896/7).

I rilievi di Madonna dell'azienda Franco misurano fra i 10 e i 32 cm di altezza e sono per lo più privi di cornice. È disponibile anche un rilievo con cornice, per sottolineare il carattere della figura. Sotto il profilo stilistico le rappresentazioni di Maria spaziano dal barocco al moderno. Nonostante gli ornamenti con rose e testine di putti, al centro vi è sempre Maria con Gesù. Tutti i rilievi sono scolpiti in legno d'acero e le finiture sono di norma da naturali a dipinte a mano. Un quadro da parete particolare è indubbiamente la versione intagliata, proposta dalla ditta Franco, della "Madonnina" (1896/7) di Ferruzzi.
